Teeth Whitening

Professional tooth bleaching · New Cairo

Professional whitening that lifts stains and brightens your natural teeth under dental supervision.

Professional whitening uses carefully controlled whitening gels to lighten the natural colour of your teeth and lift stains from coffee, tea, smoking and time. Because it is planned and supervised by our dentists, the result is brighter and more even — and kinder to your teeth and gums than over-the-counter products.

Is whitening right for you?

Whitening works best on natural teeth that have yellowed or darkened with age, diet or smoking. It does not change the colour of veneers, crowns or fillings, so if you have restorations on your front teeth we plan around them — sometimes whitening first and matching new restorations afterwards. Some deep or grey stains, for example from certain medicines or a tooth that has lost its nerve, respond less predictably and may need another approach. We check for decay, cracks and gum health first, because whitening healthy teeth gives the safest, most even result.

In-clinic or at home

In-clinic whitening is done in a single visit that usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half. Your gums are protected with a barrier, a professional whitening gel is applied in several rounds, and the change in shade is checked as we go. Home whitening uses custom trays made from a scan of your teeth, with a gentler gel worn for a set time each day over one to two weeks. Many patients combine the two: a strong start in the clinic, then trays to refine and maintain the shade.

Sensitivity and keeping it bright

Temporary sensitivity to cold is the most common side effect and usually fades within a day or two; we can use desensitising products to help. For the first 48 hours, avoid strongly coloured food and drinks such as coffee, tea, cola and red sauces, and avoid smoking. Results are not permanent: how long they last depends on your habits, but regular cleaning and occasional top-ups with your trays help keep your shade. Whitening is not usually recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for young children.

§Questions, answered

Teeth Whitening

Does whitening damage enamel?

When it is done professionally, with the right concentration and timing, whitening is considered safe for enamel. The main side effect is temporary sensitivity. Problems are more likely with unsupervised overuse of strong products, which is why we tailor the gel, time and number of sessions to your teeth.

How white will my teeth get?

It depends on your natural shade and the type of staining. Most people see a clear improvement, but every tooth responds differently. We record your starting shade and aim for a bright result that suits your face, rather than an unnaturally flat white.

Is laser whitening better?

A light is sometimes used alongside in-clinic whitening, but the whitening itself comes mainly from the gel. What matters most is a professional-grade gel, proper gum protection and careful supervision. We will recommend the approach that suits your teeth and your sensitivity.

Can I whiten veneers or crowns?

No. Whitening gels only lighten natural tooth structure, not porcelain or composite. If you plan to have new restorations on visible teeth, it is usually best to whiten first, then match the new restorations to your brighter shade.

Results vary from person to person. Every treatment plan is decided after an in-person clinical examination.
